How To Join Center GMC

You may join through baptism and confession of faith.

You may join through confirmation. If you have been baptized as an infant, confirmation allows you to publicly declare your faith and confirm your baptism.

You may join through a letter of transfer. If you are a member of another church and would like to transfer your membership to Center GMC, we will reach out to your previous church for a letter of transfer.

Kingdom Kids

Kingdom Kids is where building faith and fellowship come together! This is a time to share a meal together, learn a Bible lesson, play games, do crafts, and have fun! This class works to build the basic principles of the Christian faith.

Kingdom Youth

Kingdom Youth is focused on growing and building a foundation of life centered around Christ! This is a time to eat dinner together, play games, build friendships, and explore the Scriptures together through interactive Bible study. Focused on what today’s youth are facing while supplying them with a biblical foundation for their future, Kingdom Youth equips to make disciples for future generations!

Kingdom Culture

Kingdom Culture is a time for high school students to center themselves in Bible Study and reflection. This is a time to become equipped as each student grows in their faith, builds upon life experiences, and prepares for young adulthood. Kingdom Culture is a great opportunity to learn and deepen their faith!

Sunday Schools

We have multiple Sunday Schools to help you grow in your faith and build lifelong relationships. Center GMC has adult, youth, and children's Sunday Schools.

Bible Studies

We offer a morning and an evening Bible Study every other Tuesday. Our Tuesday morning Bible Study is from 10:30 am – 11:30 am., and our Tuesday evening Bible Study is from 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Led by Rev. Justin, our Bible studies will deepen your faith in a way that applies to your life.

Rev. Justin Douglass

Pastor

Justin joined us in August of 2023 as pastor. Born in Fort Collins, Colorado, he lived in Cheyanne, Wyoming before moving to Madison, Wisconsin. Justin moved to Sherrills Ford, North Carolina in 2005, where he met his wife, Jackie, who now have two sons, Camren and Colten. Before moving to NC, Justin was a local short-track race car driver. He enjoys racing, football, and basketball. In his spare time, Justin likes to fish, take mountain hikes with his bride, bird watches, and is interested in photography.

Justin is an ordained elder in the Global Methodist Church. He is a graduate of Hood Theological Seminary, where he earned his Master of Divinity in Pastoral Counseling. Rev. Justin earned his undergraduate at Ohio Christian University and Liberty University.

Before coming to Center GMC, Justin pastored Rocky Springs Methodist Church (Hiddenite, NC) and Cool Spring Community Church (Cleveland, NC).

In 2023, Justin and his wife Jackie founded Consider Ministries, which is currently an online ministry that provides daily devotionals and biblical teachings to help people consider their faith more deeply.

Justin’s life verse is Romans 10:13, and his mission statement for both his ministry and personal life is “Christ-Focused; Bible-Centered; Service-Oriented.”

Jackie Douglass

Childrens & Youth Pastor

Jackie Douglass, a Statesville, NC native, is our Children’s and Youth Director. She is married to Justin Douglass, and they have two wonderful boys, Camren and Colten. Jackie began serving children and youth at the age of 18 as a Vacation Bible School teacher. For the last 20 years, Jackie has led Bible studies and continues to serve children and youth groups.

Jackie has always had a passion and calling to serve those around her. Throughout her years of service, she has had many wonderful and challenging opportunities to serve children, youth, and young adults. For years, Jackie’s ministry focused on serving children, youth, and young adults with special needs, at-risk, abused, and people suffering from addiction.

For Jackie, leading children and youth into a deeper relationship with Christ is vital for both their individual faith and for the strength of the church. Over the years, she has built many lasting relationships and watched them grow into wonderful, faith-centered adults.

Jackie is looking forward to her continuing journey at Center GMC. She has always had an imaginative, spontaneous, and adventurous personality. In her free time, Jackie enjoys hiking in the mountains, fishing, football, and spending time with her family.
